The Wind and The Sun

Today Ed read me a story from a success magazine. It was powerful. It reads:
The wind and the sun were having a conversation one day, which turned into a friendly competition about who was better at making things go their way. The wind said, "I am so strong and so good at what i do that i can blow the coat away from that man down on the ground." So the wind blew hard, bending trees and rattling windows. But the stronger the wind, the more the man clutched his coat, wrapping it tightly around him.
The sun waited patiently for the windstorm to end and then took a turn. With a smile, the sun beamed down its warm rays until the man took off his coat voluntarily.
What the wind could not do with brute force the sun accomplished with warmth and charm. It is a valuable lesson for anyone who has contact with people. Now wouldn't that be just about all of us?

Lil Ed and the Potty...

I am a proud Mommy today. Lil Ed is in the beginning stages of potty training. I am not pushing, just encouraging. This morning before we left to take the girls to school Lil Ed used the potty. We dropped the girls off and headed to Target. I didn't have potty training on my mind, took my time. When we got home Lil Ed was holding his toosh and said poo...mama poo. I asked if he had poo and he said yes. Well he didn't and I asked if he needed to use the potty and he said Yes. So we went in there and his diaper was DRY and he went Pee in the toilet!!!!! What a good morning.

Internet Addiction

So yesterday afternoon our internet went down. I tried everything I knew to try to solve the problem: restart the computer, restart the modem, bang on the side of the computer...everything. When all else failed, I called Embarq. There was an automated thing saying that residential internet would be down for 48 hours. WHAT!!!??? 48 hours? I was pretty much devistated. Throughout the evening I continued to check to see if my prayers were being answered. Nope. Well, My normal morning routine consists of checking my email and bank info. This morning was hard. So was the afternoon. I was actually having a bit of anxiety dealing with the lack of internet. I continued to check. Then I checked again really not having much hope that it would be back up and there it was; Yahoo! Homepage. My lifeline. A smile spread across my face.
Needless to say, it is time to control my internet usage. Funny thing is, I really don't get that much email or anything interesting to look at...Just an addiction.

Lil Ed counting in the tub

Funny Kid.

Lil Ed

Lil Ed is such a happy little guy. He loves to play with his blocks.

He also LOVES baths. I usually have to be creative with coaxing him out of the tub. He makes motor-boat sounds like he did in papis (grandpa) swimming pool, and tells me when he is done, 'PAPI'.

Thanks Katie

For giving me a quick blogging lesson tonight. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Just Obey...

I really love the gospel. I have such a hard time on Sundays going to church though. It's Lil Eds nap time, I have stuff that HAS to get done by tomorrow, just excuse after excuse. I ran into an amazing woman from church at Costco on Friday. We had a little discussion at check out. She told me she misses me and I should come to church. I layed out my excuses: Lil ed doesn't behave, I don't like standing in the hallway with him...What's the point is what it came down to. She said a few simple yet powerful words to me...The point is, It is just about Obeying. hmmm...
See you at church on Sunday.
